Preventive Measures at Villa del Palmar Cabo: Health and Sanitation Program

TRAVEL UPDATES | Published on 22/05/2020
Optimizada disinfectant cleaning

After several months of quarantining, Villa del Palmar Cabo is preparing to welcome guests back to paradise. As news of the coronavirus began to spread around the world, Villa del Palmar Cabo stepped up as a leader in the travel industry by saying goodbye to their last guests. By taking precautionary measures before they were mandated by the government, the resort helped the city overcome the worst of the pandemic. Now that hotels are allowed to reopen, the resort is preparing new security measures and adding new standard cleaning and disinfection routines. With these infection control measures in place, the resort looks forward to gradually welcoming travelers back.

While guests were away, a limited number of workers were on the property to do a deep disinfectant cleaning as well as general maintenance and improvements. The resort also focused attention on researching the best hotel safety tips relevant to the coronavirus, making plans for additional precautionary measures and good hygiene practices. Before travelers return to Villa del Palmar Cabo, all employees will be trained on how to recognize symptoms of COVID-19 and how to implement the new standard cleaning and disinfection practices. With new preventive measures in place, the resort will gradually begin welcoming back guests, keeping the overall occupancy rate low.

The new precautionary measures are designed to keep both employees and guests healthy, and while you’ll probably notice new safety measures that emphasize the importance of cleanliness, you’ll still be able to enjoy the best of a beach vacation in Mexico. Rubén Martinez, Director of Operations of the Cabo Region for The Villa Group, has stressed the importance of following strict guidelines regarding COVID-19 for the hotel’s reopening. “One of the first security measures you’ll notice is non-invasive temperature checks of all guests and staff entering the resort, which we believe is a necessary element to keeping everyone safe. This is just a small example, but we’ve implemented protocols such as these throughout our resorts to keep our guests, employees, and community COVID-free. From the moment guests arrive to the moment they leave, we will be doing everything in our power to ensure their health and safety.” With this focus on good hygiene practices and security measures to detect the virus, you can relax by the pool with an icy margarita knowing that the hotel is keeping you safe.

With its stunning facilities and regular resort cleaning and upkeep, Villa del Palmar Cabo has always been an oasis for travelers. Because of the importance of cleanliness in fighting the virus, the daily resort cleaning will be increased with a focus on disinfecting commonly touched surfaces and high traffic areas. Surfaces that are touched by people throughout the day, like lightswitches, doorknobs, remotes, computers, and phones, will all receive a detailed disinfectant cleaning as part of the new safety measures, killing off germs and bacterias before they can be passed on. The new standard cleaning and disinfection routine will also focus on common spaces where guests often pass through, like elevators, lobbies, and dining areas. While the gym will be open, guests are asked to make a reservation to keep the occupancy low, following the best hotel safety tips for reopening. Disinfectant cleaning products will be available throughout the gym to encourage good hygiene practices while you work out. Because of the importance of cleanliness in continuing to prevent the spread of COVID-19, these new preventive measures on top of the normal resort cleaning can make a big difference.

Throughout the resort, you may notice a few other infection control measures. Some services, like room service and valet parking, will be temporarily unavailable in order to align with the best hotel safety tips for reopening and practicing social distancing. Guests will also be asked to regularly wash their hands and maintain a healthy distance between other guests in common areas, like the lobby and pool. While these preventive measures aren’t a part of your typical beach vacation, you’ll still be able to enjoy your favorite Mexican dishes in the spectacular on-site restaurants and splash in one of the pools overlooking the ocean.

With these infection control measures in place, you can have peace of mind while soaking up the sun and strolling along the beach. At the same time, be sure to follow all the safety measures so that you and other guests can continue to enjoy all the fun of vacationing in Cabo San Lucas. Together, we can work to keep ourselves and the whole world safe and healthy.
